This season I am finding very often that even though I am queuing alongside several other similarly ranked players we will ALL be put in separate Diamond rank games. The current balance between speed of queue and game quality is, in my opinion, at an all time low.
I am not sure if the changes were made so regions with a low population could benefit from faster queue times; but I strongly feel the EU region has enough life in it to make an exception to the latest changes. However; my issue, although not affecting the large majority of the player-base, is one that should be addressed nonetheless. This season there are often large skill disparities between players within a single game.
Currently the skill difference between a 5k Master player and a Diamond 5 is huge. It is simply no fun for anyone when there is such difference in player skill leading directly to a very poor gaming experience. The amount of time needed in queue for a Master player to be matched with a Diamond players is much too short. It should be a last resort and every effort should be made by the MM over a period of say 10 minutes to find other Masters to put in a game.
