What I love most about coaching women is feeling like I am getting to share with them all of the secrets about men that men never tell them. I have always loved being able to give women a tour inside the mind of a man , so that they truly understand men and how they’re wired. Here is a perfect example of how I get to do this. You know what my answer was to this? So what!
DePandi: My whole life, people have been telling me that I think like a guy when it comes to dating. I was pretty carefree in relationships, and if.
But during his rocket-like shot to the top, Harvey had his share of relationships and gained a lot of experience with women. Now he’s turning this experience into sage advice for the fairer sex. Check out an excerpt of the book below, then head to the “GMA” Library for other great reads. One of those that stood out most was the lifestyle of a famous and well-regarded celebrity, whose name I’m just going to go ahead and keep to myself.
But this much I will tell you: this man had it all—money, fame, and a bevy of super-beauties so bad he could have easily made Hugh Hefner scratch his head and wonder how he could get in on that action. I mean this man was surrounded by gorgeous women.
‘Think Like A Man,’ And We’ll See What Happens
Any woman who has devoted hours to swiping through Tinder pictures of shirtless men posing with fish and fielded hundreds of cheesy pickup lines can confirm that heterosexual dating is soul-sucking work. However, I cannot relate; I have a percent success rate when it comes to turning first dates into long-term, committed relationships. This is because I have only been in one in my 26 years on earth.
I was a late bloomer partially out of resistance. I avoided dating apps and proceeded to live my life making no particular effort to meet men, eventually befriending one and going on a date that turned into my current loving, supportive relationship of three and a half years. The only advice I followed was the kind that is offensively unhelpful until it actually works: Just be yourself!
Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man by Steve Harvey. Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man by Steve Harvey. The lowdown: Men think differently and.
Oy, the things daters have to worry about these days. Not just how to dress, act and turn “no” into “go,” but how not to become a chirp-chirp girl. A what, you ask? Well, as comedian and broadcast personality Steve Harvey explains in Think Like a Man — a film that illustrates the stereotypes and situations he wrote about in his self-help best-seller Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man — she’s the girl who puts up with a man who uses his key fob to unlock the car — ” chirp chirp ” — as he’s heading for the driver’s side and expects her to open the passenger-side door herself.
Meagan Good, playing a sweet, sensitive woman who’s protecting herself by adopting Harvey’s day rule before succumbing to her boyfriend’s advances, won’t put up with chirp-chirping, or with any other guff from smooth-talking player Romany Malco. And so it goes in this romantic rondelay. Henson meets head-in-clouds dreamer Michael Ealy who waits tables to make ends meet as he seeks kitchen cred as a chef; and divorced guy Kevin Hart misses feminine companionship so much that he’s prepared to hit on a friend’s mom Jenifer Lewis.
As the types pile up, it will occur to you that it’s kind of amazing that humanity manages to procreate at all. The story pits men who get together to drink, play basketball and fantasize about women, against women who gather at book clubs to complain about men. As the film begins, Harvey’s guidebook is giving what used to be called “the weaker sex” an advantage.
But then, the men find the book and Tim Story, who also directed the ensemble comedy Barbershop , here takes time-honored stand-up material and turns it into something pleasantly sitcom-ish — kind of a knowing, urbane variation on the sort of thing that would get more earnest treatment from Tyler Perry. The director doesn’t require — and doesn’t really get — distinctive acting from his cast, but every once in a while, the company manages to wink broadly at the film’s genre.
If you caught actor Michael Ealy in Perry’s movie version of For Colored Girls , for instance, you’ll get a kick out of the way his character here mocks his character there.
An On-Set Interview with the Cast of Think Like a Man
It all comes down to the way we think, and frankly, I tend to relate more to the opposite sex than I do with my own kind. Women hate you. Then they envy you. Oh, so you just realized that my unique thought processes make guys want to be around me?

Believe it or not, there are ways that women can benefit from taking a cue from their male counterparts:. You know what ladies? There are fish in the sea for you too! You know what they say — the best way to get over a relationship is to get under a new one. There’s some ‘scientific’ evidence to suggest that when women give it up, they magically become emotionally attached to the guy and thus, shut down their vaginas for any other penises who attempt to enter.
Guys see the act of sex as what it is — a hopefully good lay. Girls are roped in to believe that there is some sort of artery which connects your vagina to your heart and automatically fall in love with every man they sleep with. Girls talk. About everything. All the time.

I have literally referred to this as my dating bible! I used this book and Steve’s advice to snag the man of my dreams! My man followed this book exactly the way.
Dating like a man does not mean that you have to act manly or to try to be a man. That is not what I mean at all. Quick disclaimer; I am not a dating coach, I am not a dating expert nor am I saying that I am a master in the dating game. I am still dating. I am still learning. However, watching the way men date and behave has helped me greatly in my dating life. For us women we tend to fantasize on what it could be.
I honestly believe all women would benefit greatly if they learned how to date like men do. But hear me out, the truth is that men have a lot of different thoughts and standards than we do when it comes to dating and finding a potential partner.

This article originally appeared on ManWifeAndDog. My husband and I went to see the new movie “Think Like A Man” over the weekend, and let me just go ahead and say, we did enjoy it. It was funny, smart, and way more realistic than we expected it to be. Now, that said, it was still a movie We must always remember, there is a difference, so the “lessons” the film is dishing out should be taken with a grain of salt.
I’ll admit that I didn’t read Steve Harvey’s best seller “Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man” when it first came out; not because I’m a hater, but rather because I’d already met a good man by then and wasn’t totally sold on the idea that I needed to read the book to keep him around. I read it a few years later, mostly out of curiosity. I’d heard so many women swear they’d “turned the tables” on the men in their lives by using a rule from Harvey’s playbook, so you know I had to see what all the fuss was about.
I was impressed with the empowerment behind much of his advice, I’ll admit. But, I wasn’t convinced enough to walk around preaching Harvey’s sermons to the masses. My reason is simple: I didn’t have to “man up” to meet a good man who respected me, cherished me, and was willing to put in the effort required to earn my love and trust. When I met my future husband, I didn’t approach dating thinking like I thought he did as Harvey recommends , I thought like me because that’s all I knew how to do and I wanted to be true to myself and date within my comfort zone.
The book and the movie will tell you that thinking a step ahead of the guy you want to be with will get you to the relationship you want faster, or filter out the losers.
